Something Republicans Can Relate To, Selling Their Conservatism For Profit
As reported on LA Observed today, Republicans are being notified that they can make a quick $15 if they show up at the taping of the “Half Hour News Hour” at the local (Los Angeles) Fox affiliate, courtesy of the Los Angeles Republican Alliance. An even better offer is for when Bill O’Reilly comes to town, and the offer is upped to $20:
Or you can make 20 bucks for papering the house at a special Aug. 13 taping that will air on Fox after Bill O’Reilly, “very important because millions more people will be watching and will help in determining if the show will be picked up for another season. Having a show like this during election time will be a great comic relief for all American conservatives.”
This all seems fitting, as the Republicans are the party of big business, and as many of their elected representatives have demonstrated, one should never pass up an opportunity to make a little extra dough on the side. We do want to point out one important point, that might be missed by some die-hard GOP’ers, and that is its not that Bill-O is worth $20 to see and hear in person, its that it’s worth $20 a head for Bill-O and Fox to pack the audience with ringers, since they know they won’t be able to attract any rational thinking people in to their audience. All of the rational people are over at Comedy Central, in the audience for “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report”, where they don’t have to pay for a studio audience.
